This project involves the renovation and transformation of an old village school from 1848. Currently, the house's facades and windows are protected or have conservation value. Previously, the house was granted permission to replace the old thatched roof with a traditional tile roof. Due to the house's history as both a school and residence for the headmaster and teacher, it originally had many small rooms. We have approached the project with a mindset to change as little as possible to the existing building structures. The goal was to create an optimal layout for a country house that could accommodate a large family and be future-proofed for the parents in the long term. We have also focused on transforming the garden into a modern courtyard with plenty of corners and cozy nooks. This courtyard connects the main house with the workshop and garage and provides access to the large garden, which functions as a park-like oasis. This renovation aims to breathe new life into the house while preserving its historical charm and value. (pictures and illustrations are under development. coming soon)
