M&E Residence

This project involves the rebuilding and extension of a traditional longhouse in the countryside after a fire. The house has been reconstructed in the same location as the previous one but has been expanded by one meter in width and one and a half meters in length compared to the existing house. Constructed mainly of wood, the house is designed to take advantage of the stunning views offered by the property. Facing north, there are views over the rolling farmland, while to the west, the forest stretches out, and to the south, the village unfolds. Natural light has been emphasized in all rooms, with skylights also placed throughout the house. The project has focused on implementing simple and elegant solutions that are also maintenance-free and economically feasible. Despite a tight insurance budget, a house that meets the desire for extra square meters has been created. The house, divided into three sections, has the middle section as a central living area, including the kitchen, dining room, TV room, and tea room, all with generous views and light. The client's desire for high ceilings has been fulfilled to create a sense of extra spaciousness.
